Podcasts / First post

I figured for my first post that I would go through some of my favorite
podcasts that I listen to on a weekly basis. I realize that most of you
probably do not listen to podcasts and you do this because you are
dumb. Next time your on WoW fire one of these up and I think you will
be pleasantly surprised. You can find any of these on iTunes or by
following the links posted below.

1. Rebel FM - http://rebelfm.libsyn.com/
All of the hosts are ex EGM (electronic gaming monthly) employees
that were laid off after the unfortunate demise of EGM and 1up. Rebel
covers game news, reviews and a lot of bullshit. All of the hosts are
professional video game journalists and are very entertaining to listen
to.

2. Dungeons and Dragons - http://www.wizards.com/dnd/rsspodcast.xml
The official DnD podcast. The host is one of the writer's for many
of the DnD books. This podcast features many interviews, news, previews
and tips. It's a good resource for anyone who enjoys DnD. There is a
series of podcasts being done with the penny arcade guys of them
playing in a 4.0 game and it is a must listen.

3. Downloadable Content - http://feeds.penny-arcade.com/padlc
Speaking of penny arcade, they have their own podcast. They don't
update it very often but it is worth going back to the archives and
listening to their past ones. They record the conversations that they
have that lead to the web comics and the conversations are just as
hilarious as the comic itself.

4. All Songs Considered - http://www.npr.org/templates/rundowns/rundown.php?prgId=37
This one breaks the nerd oriented theme of the others but if you
are into indie or obscure music then this podcast is great. Features
many artists that you have probably never heard of and they are almost
all great. Hast interviews and live concerts a must for those of you
into different kinds of music.

5. The Instance - http://www.myextralife.com/wow/
A WoW specific podcast. These guys might not be the most
knowledgeable when it comes to WoW but they are fun to listen to and
might tell you something that you didn't know.

6. The Totally Rad Show - http://totallyradshow.com/
This one is a video podcast that covers game, movie, comic and t.v.
reviews. All 3 hosts are knowledgeable and entertaining. If you don't
mind it being a video podcast then this one is a must.

7. The Geekbox - http://www.geekbox.net/
Another podcast that rose from the ashes of GFW. This podcast
covers less of video games and more about nerd culture. They even
record it in a comic shop. The majority of their conversations revolve
around cactus cooler.

8. Diggnation - http://revision3.com/diggnation/
Hosted by the creator of digg.com this podcast covers mainly tech
news but also covers some of the ridiculous stories that are on the
website digg.com. This one is also a video podcast.

9. Cheap Ass Gamer - http://www.cheapassgamer.com/
Short on cash but need some games? that is these guys specialty.
Any deal that might be going on they have the scoop on it. If you pay
attention to their forums then you can get some pretty ridiculous
deals. Their show is more of a general gaming podcast.

10. Extra Life Radio - http://www.myextralife.com/2005/09/21/extralife-radio-podcast-47-nerds-get-old-and-fat-show/
All three hosts are web comic artists and major geeks. This
podcasts is mainly about nostalgic geek topics and poop. pretty
entertaining if you don't mind it not having any structure to it.

What Al said. But I am with you on the DnD podcast. I've listened to the Penny Arcade one several times, its just hilarious.

Those of you that make a big deal out of this are a bowl full o' queerios away from a circle jerk marathon.

Personally I only listen to Smodcast and the D&D Podcast. I did love their whole adventure with the Penny Arcade crew though and would love to hear more of those.
