Vidja Games Empty Vidja Games

I know a lot of you have played Skyrim, but I have steered pretty clear of it. I tried to get into the whole franchise back in the beginning over and over again, but haven't had any fun any time I sit down to play. Maybe part of my brain is broken...I'm not sure, but I want an opinion. What do you honestly think?

Cupcake asked me to get her the game last night. Well more appropriately she said she wanted to play it, which is a flimsy pretext for me to pirate whatever I can get my grubby little fingers on lol. I just don't know if I should bother to install it myself.

Pretty entertaining game no lie. You can sit down and play for hours on end and not even jump into the main story. I haven't gotten too far into the main story, as I'm mostly doing Stormcloak quests (One of the factions that is involved in a war taking place in the game).

In my opinion I would at least check it out. I never liked the any of the older games for one reason or another, but I'm enjoying this one throughout so far. And as long as the ending isn't this "LOL2DEEP4U" mass effect 3 endings, it will be among my favorite games.

All I will say is that she needs to be sure she doesn't follow the super main quest line first. The one that leads you to the end of the game after you train your Dragonborn voice and defeat Alduin Wyrmbane. If you do the main quest first you REALLY lose out on the fun of the game.

I will say though, I picked up Skyrim in November of last year when it came out, I could have easily beaten it by now but there is SO much you can do while you play. Seriously. It has the leveling up of professions and specific skills (much like WoW), like Hawk said it's super open ended so you can pretty much play for hours without getting bored, and you can customize your character in like 9 million ways.

Was a good call to get it overall IMO, she should have a lot of fun, as much as I'm sure you could have too.

Also, I never played any of the other series if it means anything... I still didn't need them to have fun.

I played Oblivion religiously back in the day, and Skyrim does nothing but add to the experience in my opinion. It takes place 200 years after oblivion, and many of the things you did on the main quest in that game are in books in Skyrim, sort of a wink nudge which is fun.

Definitely avoid the main quest after you get your first ability, really makes the game last forever. Especially since the ending is... iffy.

Okay so for those who enjoyed Skyrim, or any Elder Scrolls game for that matter. There was an announcement the other day from Bethesda... Elder Scrolls online. I can honestly say I didn't see this coming for at least a year or so.

http://elderscrollsonline.com/ << Only a small teaser exists for now.
